The Go Light

…at the intersection of Ways and Means

  • Aug 18

When Blog Diyiin Bi was started a few months ago, it was intended to be a commercial profit-making venture. It quickly evolved into a ministry blog, and the commercial aspects of it now look out-of-place when mixed in with devotionals, articles on apologetics, and other Christian ministry posts.

So Blog Diyiin Bi is getting two new sister blogs. All new articles related to eCommerce and some of the reviews that would have been in the “Pastor Marv Recommends” category of Blog Diyiin Bi will instead be on one of the new blogs, The Go Light (this blog) or Christian Internet Resources. There will be some overlap between all three blogs, possibly with some articles being posted on more than one of the blogs, depending on the topic. For instance, a review of Bible study software might be posted on both Blog Diyiin Bi and Christian Internet Resources, with some words and phrases throughout the article changed so that the search engines won’t flag it as duplicate content.

The combination of The Go Light and Christian Internet Resources will be an expansion of the “Pastor Marv Recommends” category of Blog Diyiin Bi, with The Go Light getting all of the business opportunity articles and Christian Internet Resources getting all of the software, web site, and other reviews may not fit in with the new ministry-only format of Blog Diyiin Bi. All existing articles that are on Blog Diyiin Bi will stay there because of the fact that the search engines have already indexed them, but there may be some articles posted on the other two blogs with backlinks to Blog Diyiin Bi. Some of the articles already posted to Blog Diyiin Bi may be reworded as stated in the previous paragraph and posted to one of the new blogs, and this article will be reworded and posted to all three blogs!

For both of the new blogs, articles by guest writers will be accepted. These articles will be moderated by me. If you would like to submit articles for either or both blogs, please send me email via the contact link on any of the three blogs. You can place links to your own blogs, squeeze pages, affiliate sites, or other websites in the articles, and since the links do NOT use the “nofollow” attribute, your website(s) will be indexed when the search engines spider the blog. Keep in mind that these blogs are owned and operated by a Christian and are intended for a Christian audience, so no articles containing illegal material, warez, so-called “adult” content, etc., or links to same will be accepted.

I also installed the “dofollow” plugin, which disabled the “nofollow” attribute for links in comments on the two new blogs. Leaving a comment about an existing post will result in the search engines indexing your websites that are linked to in the comment. And, of course, any comments with inappropriate content, including links to inappropriate websites, or comments with more than a couple of links, will be deleted without notice. Repeat offenders may be blacklisted on all blogs that I moderate. I reserve the right to delete any comment that, in my sole discretion, I deem inappropriate. In general, and there may be exceptions to this, I will not delete a comment just because the author of it disagrees with me. I may also elect to edit a comment rather than delete it, but if I do, I will do it in such a way that it will be clear what was edited. (And the edited comment just might have the “nofollow” attribute added to any links, depending on the reason it was edited. I don’t want to waste “link juice” on garbage!)

I will also consider accepting articles by guest authors for Blog Diyiin Bi, but will be much more selective about article subject, content, and the qualifications of the author. Guest authors for Blog Diyiin Bi should be involved in ministry, either full-time (such as pastors, evangelists, etc.), or part-time, such as Sunday school teachers and other lay leaders. If you are not active in your local church, or if you are an evangelist who thinks he doesn’t need to be part of a local church, don’t even ask to write for Blog Diyiin Bi. I may ask for references from your pastor or others before accepting any articles from you. If you would like to write articles for Blog Diyiin Bi, use the contact link on this blog and tell me a little about your Christian experience, what type of ministry you are involved in, and what type(s) of articles you would like to write, and anything else you think I should know to make an informed decision. I am willing to set up new categories if I like your proposed topic(s) and none of the existing ones are appropriate. Just remember that Blog Diyiin Bi is a Christian blog owned and operated by a conservative Pentecostal preacher, and the Bible is the standard used to determine if the article is appropriate for Blog Diyiin Bi. That’s why most of the “Pastor Marv Recommends” articles will now be posted to this blog or Christian Internet Resources – I am uncomfortable mixing business and ministry the way it would need to be done in order for the blog to be effective as a commercial enterprise; that would destroy its effectiveness as a ministry tool. The links in Blog Diyiin Bi articles, like those in the two new blogs, do not use the “nofollow” attribute, so links to your own websites will be spidered by the search engines. Links in comments on Blog Diyiin Bi do have the “nofollow” attribute, but that will be changed soon – most likely if/when the blogging platform is changed from b2evolution to WordPress.

Both The Go Light and Christian Internet Resources use the WordPress blogging platform. Blog Diyiin Bi uses b2evolution. At some time in the near future, Blog Diyiin Bi will be moved to WordPress, but that will be a major project which will possibly result in the blog being down for a short time. WordPress has about ten times as many plugins and themes to choose from as does b2evolution.

    in His service,
    Pastor Marv
